An accomplished and talented singer Shubhangi Mulay enthralls the audiences with her splendid voice and impressive presentation of diverse songs. A voice that mesmerized Dalai Lama and earned a heart-felt spontaneous appreciation from him continues to fascinate the souls of numerous listeners. Shubhangi considers herself blessed to receive an appreciation and felicitation from Bharatratna Lata Mangeshkar which accredits Shubhangi’s utmost excellence and devotion towards music.
The hundreds of programs performed in Pune and other cities of India apart from performing at several international locations like Detroit, Seattle, San Jose, Sanfrancisco, Portland, U.S.A. and Canada, talk about her immense popularity. She recently completed 500 individual music programs and has been continuing to perform at various locations.
Shubhangi – a Sangeet Visharad from Gandharva Mahavidyalaya received her early training from Dr. Sanjeev Shende and Mrs. Archana Phatak. She is one of the few singers who have had the opportunity to get the guidance of veteran music personality - Shri Gajananrao Watwe. Being a singer who loves to experiment and explore new musical arenas, Shubhangi has been associated with music composers of diverse genres and styles, from Shri Gajananrao Watwe to new generation’s favorite music director Dr Saleel Kulkarni.
She also received the guidance from Shri. Mohankumar Darekar, well-known classical vocalist and disciple of Late Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Shubhangi also received valuable inputs from Shri Shreedhar Phadke, Shri Anand Modak and Shri Kaushal Inamdar and reputed classical singer Shri Sanjeev Chimlgi at the musical workshop she attended. At present, Shubhangi receives training from famous singer Anuradha Marathe, renowned violinist Ramakant Paranjape, and legendary music composers like Shri. Ashok Patki. Shubhangi’s musical comfort and versatility can be reflected from the fact that she has experience in singing Hindi, Marathi, Telgu, Punjabi, and Sindhi songs too.
Her singing is acknowledged by several prominent organizations and entities. She was recently felicitated in Pune for completing 500 musical programs. Shubhangi has been a popular singer performing theme-based programs at various religious events and Utsavas including Ganapati Festival, Navratra Festival, Datta Jayanti, Hanuman Jayanti, Ramnavmi Festival, Jangli Maharaj Utsav, famous events like Shankar Maharaj Utsav, Pune Navratra Utsav and so on. Shubhangi has been a regular performer at Diwali Pahat programs arranged at various locations.
Along with being a part of many renowned musical groups, she is also invited to judge several prominent competitions like Pune Idol and several other inter-bank and inter-college music competitions. Shubhangi has performed for Radio station as well as television channels in India in addition to giving live performances at various parts of the country.
She also conducts and single-handedly takes care of all the arrangements of Saptsur - Music Workshop of Ashok Patki arranged by Rotary Club of Pune Gandhi Bhavan Charitable Trust for the last few years. Furthermore, Shubhangi has sung few new songs composed by Ashok Patki.
Shubhangi’s melodious voice and command over various types of songs like Bhavgeet, Bhaktigeet, Lavanis, Patriotic songs, Hindi film songs and Folk Music are her strengths that enable her to touch the hearts of audiences instantly. She has also delivered playback performance for some film songs.
Shubhangi has been contributing a lot for various music related events and activities. Her devoted and commendable efforts and contribution in collecting the rarest vocal and instrumental audio/video recordings, interviews of various Indian eminent and reputed performers for Swarbhaskar Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Kaladalan located at Sahakarnagar, Pune are also a part of her deep zeal and passion towards music. This prominent collection by Shubhangi plays a vital role in making the Kaladalan a major musical treasure. Her devoted efforts for this cause were highly appreciated at various levels.
Shubhangi an ardent music lover contributes to various parts of society through her knowledge and music in every possible way. She has produced a cassette of Rotary songs which was published in R.I.D. 3130 district conference held in January 2005 and was appreciated by several. She has been associated in Rotary’s several activities and actively participated in their social projects and programs.
Shubhangi’s enriching experience and knowledge is reflected in her astonishing gayaki that mesmerizes the audiences taking them on an unforgettable musical voyage.
